As
stewards of our soil and water resources as well as advocates
of best management practices in the disciplines of agriculture
and silviculture, our Council believes mankind can live in harmony
with nature. |

Such
harmony can take the form of either preservation or conservation.
While conservation allows for the management /harvesting of these
resources there are other instances when the future of mankind
depends on our ability to put aside our immediate materialistic
needs for next generations.
The sponsors of the Finger Lakes Resource Conservation and Development
Council also recognize that increased economic prosperity can
be achieved through the constructive use and sound management
of these same resources.

Our Mission:
The purpose of the Finger Lakes Resource
Conservation and Development Council, Inc. is to fully utilize
the human and natural resources of the region in order to enhance
the economic, social, and environmental conditions for the people
of Chemung, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben and Yates Counties. |
